Cowgirl City Ranch is a sustainable organic farm situated on beautiful wooded acres just 25 minutes outside of the Durham, North Carolina Triangle Area.

 

We grow a large variety of organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers. We distribute our crops though a CSA Membership Program, and at our Farm Stand on site.  

 

The mission of Cowgirl City Ranch is to be a platform for youth to experience hands-on interaction with sustainable organic agriculture. Our goal is to build emotional and mental well-being through establishing an atmosphere of respect and self esteem in an agricultural environment. We strive to develop in the youth, and all that visit our farm, a sense of stewardship towards the earth and our environment.

Reconnecting With 

Mother Earth

 

 

Many children today have lost the connection with nature, knowledge of farming, and the true origins of their food. At Cowgirl City Ranch we strive to create the right environment for awakening that knowledge. Learning arises out of the daily experience of life and work on the farm. This is a place for children to discover that earth is the ground of all life. The plants and animals are part of a special circle of friends, which includes the farmer and gardener. Through farm life experiences children stretch boundaries and realize new capacities in themselves. Satisfaction and delight grow from simple pleasure shared deeply with friends. Cowgirl City Ranch invites everyone to seek the balanced sensitivity and wisdom of the farmer toward the natural environment that nourishes us.
